Come As You Are

Our challenges do not define us.

Heart Led is founded by Lauren Bielenberg, a Portland-based movement practitioner and personal trainer.

For about half of my life, I struggled with orthorexia, an eating disorder centered around an obsession with “health.” For me, it meant hours of daily exercise, rigid rules around food, and constant thoughts about my body. What was supposed to be healthy had made my life feel restrictive and small.

Over time, I experienced a number of physical health challenges, including SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), other digestive issues, amenorrhea, decreased bone density, and hypothyroidism. Alongside the physical challenges, I realized I needed greater support for my mental health. There were signals from my body that I could no longer ignore.

That experience changed the way I think about movement, wellness, and what it means to care for ourselves. I’ve learned the importance of listening inward, of the language we use when we talk to ourselves and one another, and of treating our bodies with respect for all they do for us. Today, I believe well-being can be more spacious—rooted in mindful movement, meaningful connection, and a balance of strength and softness.

Our Philosophy

Heart Led practices from a Health At Every Size® (HAES) aligned perspective and uses trauma-informed language to create more inclusive and supportive movement experiences.

We welcome people of all bodies, backgrounds, identities, abilities, experience levels, and relationships with movement.

Instead of approaching wellness through restriction, punishment, or appearance, we focus on what movement can add to your life: strength, mobility, confidence, connection, and a deeper awareness of your body.

There is room here to move differently.

  • To challenge yourself without punishing yourself.

  • To rest without needing to earn it.

  • To build strength without trying to become smaller.

  • To listen to your body instead of overriding it.
